The Westmoreland Society, a membership group at the Westmoreland Museum of Art dedicated to the collection, preservation and advancement of American Art is pleased to announce that the Society's 2009 Distinguished Artist Gold Medal Recipient will be Aaronel deRoy Gruber. Aaronel is being honored for her significant and influential contributions as an artist and will be presented with the Gold Medal at the Society's annual dinner in December.

Curatorial research by Linda Benedict-Jones and Graham Shearing has concluded for a retrospective of Aaronel’s photographic work . The show, The Analytical Eye: Photographs by Aaronel deRoy Gruber is currently on exhibit at the Silver Eye Center for Photography, March 18 – June 27, 2009. View online here. Filmmaker Ken Love has produced a film on Aaronel and her life’s work in painting, sculpture and photography. The Premiere Screening will was held at The Carnegie Museum of Art.
